Research Progress of Extraction Separation of Molybdenum and Tungsten

The extraction separation of tungsten and molybdenum in the past decades is briefly reviewed and commented. By contrasting and analyzing the characteristics of various kinds of extraction separation method, it is indicated that the research fields, such as investigating the difference of the chemical and physical properties of tungsten and molybdenum compounds, difference of the coordination compound properties of tungsten and molybdenum in redox system, new type of high effective extractant and extraction system for achieving effective W/Mo separation, are the important research directions.
